Go Bold or Go Home!

As was true for most of 2010, bold rich hues will continue to dominate weddings in the fall and winter months of this year. Purples, browns, reds, blues, oranges, hot pinks and slate will be the season's hottest colours.

But, this is only part of the story... getting the right shade is the tricky part because it is the particular hues that will make your colour choice pop or flop on the big day. For example:

1. Purple: purple is hot and will continue to be for the rest of 2010 but not just any purple will do. The shade to look for is actually violet.

2. Brown: brown is always a wedding favourite but the traditional chocolate tone is being replaced with this season's "it" hue, mocha.

The Carlsberg "Big Wedding Bash"

Here is something you don't see every day! A beer company sponsoring a wedding? Strange (very!) but true nonetheless and very very tempting! In short:

• Carslberg Beer wants to throw a crazy $100,000 massive wedding extravanganza, for one lucky Ontario couple this Fall
• Just enter to win, on their bigweddingbash.ca, tell your friends to vote for you and cross your fingers.
• The "bash" is set to be held at the Capitol Theatre in Toronto on October 1, 2010 and
• will even include "an exclusive performance from one of the hottest bands in indie music"

What's the catch?

• Your wedding will be attended by 1,000 of your closest friends, family and wedding crashers. In other words, if you don't mind Carslberg inviting a few (screened?) happy crashers to your wedding, go ahead an enter!

Our first real wedding of 2010, featuring love, fun, creativity and a spectacular outdoor location on the coast of BC..

Phil & Jocelyn met while both working (as respiratory therapists) in the Emergency Room at Victoria General Hospital, in Victoria BC. Phil proposed by presenting Jocelyn with new golf shoes, one embroidered with "Marry" the other with "Me"! Then they travelled to Saskatoon (near the family cottage), in February to have special winter engagement photos done as a nod to their passion for outdoor winter sports (i.e. snowboarding!)

Since Phil is from Vancouver Island and Jocelyn grew up in Red Deer Alberta, they knew most of their guests would have to travel. So they were free to pick a wedding location that, like all the details of their day, could be selected selected to make everyone feel special. Their final choice: Rockwater Resort, in Secret Cove, on the coast of BC.

Your wedding will of course have its share of unforgettable moments, moments which you will definitely want to preserve, whether on photo or video. This much is certain!
